Gratitude isn’t a personality type. It’s a skill you practice like free throws.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
People talk about grateful as though it were a temperament you either got or did not. It behaves much more like a movement you repeat until it stops requiring thought. Nobody is naturally good at noticing what is going right, because attention runs toward problems by default. What looks like a sunny nature is usually just a lot of reps.
Give it a form, since a vague intention will not survive a bad week. Three things at the same time each day, or one text a week to somebody who helped. Do it when you do not feel it, which is the whole point of practice.
When this week could you practice noticing, the way you practice drills?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
