Carrying a grudge feels like holding somebody accountable, but you are the only one doing any carrying. The other person is usually not thinking about it, while you keep the weight, review it now and then, and bring it into rooms that have nothing to do with them. Setting it down is not the same as saying what happened was fine.

Name one thing you are still hauling from a year or more back. Ask what keeping it actually buys you. If the answer is nothing, put it down quietly, without waiting for an apology first.
