Growth is swapping “they made me” for “I let it.”

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

There is a real gap between what happens to you and what you do next, and one of those phrasings hides it. Saying somebody made you react a certain way hands them the controls and leaves you nothing to work with. The other version is harder to say and far more useful, because it puts your part back in your hands. None of that means taking the blame for what they did.

Rewrite one recent complaint in the second form and watch what shifts. Look for the moment a choice existed. That moment is where anything different can start.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What outcome have you blamed on someone who only suggested it?
