Your past is a chapter you can reread, not a room you have to live in.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
Remembering something and living inside it are two different activities. Rereading is useful: you go back, work out what happened, take what it has to teach and come out again. Living there means an old room sets the temperature for every new relationship and every new risk. The past cannot repeat itself unless it is making your present decisions.
Ask whether a memory you keep returning to is still teaching you anything. If not, you already have what it had to give. Let the next decision come from what is actually in front of you.
Which memory do you revisit far more often than needed?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
