A wrong turn does not make the map argue with you about your character. It recalculates and gives you the next instruction, because the goal is arriving, not blame. Most people do the opposite internally, spending twenty minutes on a verdict before they get around to the next step. The commentary does not speed up the correction.

The next time you miss something, try naming only the next action out loud. Skip the part where you list your history of missing things. Save the review for later, when it can actually change the route.
