Your first apartment will be tiny. So was your first everything.

Beginnings are small by definition, and the small version is not a verdict on where you end up. The first room, the first paycheck, the first attempt at cooking for yourself: all of them are scaled to what you can manage right now. Comparing a starting point to somebody else’s current state is comparing two different years. Nobody starts in the middle.

Make the small version work rather than waiting for the bigger one. Set up one corner properly, the place you will actually sit every day. Notice what you already know how to do that you did not know last year.
