Every new city is confusing for a month. Then it has your favorite spot.

Unfamiliar places are exhausting because nothing is automatic, and every small errand costs full attention. That phase is temporary and shorter than it feels while you are in it. Somewhere in the first few weeks the map starts loading on its own, and then one ordinary place becomes yours. Belonging is mostly accumulated repetition in specific locations.
Go to the same coffee place, park or corner shop three times this week rather than trying a new one each day. Learn one route by walking it without directions. Give the place a month before you decide how you feel about it.
Where new to you has not yet gotten a favorite corner?
