When you learn to lose well, you start winning more.

Losing badly costs you the information the loss contained. If the whole experience gets spent on anger, excuses or avoiding the people involved, nothing about the next attempt changes. Handling it calmly leaves you able to look at what happened while the details are still fresh. Composure is not politeness but access to the lesson.
After the next loss, say one honest sentence to whoever beat you and mean it. Take fifteen minutes the same day to write what you would change. Then leave it alone, because rereading a loss past that point stops being useful.
How do you act in the ten minutes after losing?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
