Sometimes the best place to lead from is the back of the line, making sure nobody gets left.
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
Front-facing leadership is only one shape, and it assumes the risk is ahead. Sometimes the actual risk is behind you: someone slower, someone struggling, someone who will drop off if nobody notices. Being last keeps the whole group intact, which is often the real objective. Nobody watching can see you doing it.
Find where the drop-off point in your group is and stand there this week. Walk with whoever is at the back. Say nothing about why you are there, because the point is that they were not left, not that you were helping.
Who would be left behind if you stopped looking back?
