Anyone can lead when the team is fired up. Try getting them to stretch in the rain.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Motivation does most of the work on good days, which makes whoever is in charge look effective when really the conditions were doing it. The actual test is the flat wet session nobody wants, where there is no energy to borrow and the only thing available is your own consistency. Whatever holds up there is real. The rest was weather.

Pick the least appealing session this week and run it properly, exactly as though it mattered. Do not give a speech about it. Just start on time and do the whole thing, and notice who stays with you.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who still follows your lead on the cold, miserable days?
