Read one thing a month that has nothing to do with you. That’s where your next idea is hiding.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Ideas mostly come from collisions, and nothing can collide if everything you read is already about your own interests. A field you have no stake in hands you shapes and words you would never have met, and those turn out to fit problems back home. The connection is never visible in advance. It shows up later, sideways.

Pick something genuinely unrelated this month: beekeeping, shipping routes, how a courtroom works. Read one article or one chapter and do not try to make it useful. The value arrives weeks afterward, when something in it suddenly explains something else.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What topic far outside your life could you read about monthly?
