A project becomes powerful when contribution is easier than dependence.

If contributing to something is harder than asking its owner to handle it, everyone rationally asks the owner. The bottleneck then grows, and it looks like a shortage of initiative when it is really a design failure. Power comes from making the contributing path the easy one.

Count how often people come to you for something they could have done themselves. Each of those is a place where the path is unclear or blocked. Fixing one of them frees you and them at once.
