A decision made before you were born set the country, the language, and the street you grew up on. The reasons behind those moves carry more than history. They carry what your people were afraid of, what they wanted badly enough to leave for, and a lot of that is still running quietly inside your own habits. Most of it never gets said unless somebody asks.
