As a kid you asked a hundred questions a day. Somewhere you got embarrassed and stopped. Start again.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Somewhere between being small and being your age, questions started carrying a cost. Asking marked you as the one who did not know, and after enough of those moments the asking goes quiet and gets replaced by nodding. The curiosity did not leave, it just got covered over by a fairly reasonable fear of looking behind.

Start with low-stakes ground. Ask things of people who will not judge you, in places nobody is grading, until the reflex loosens again. A friend, a search bar, a librarian, an older relative. The muscle comes back faster than you would expect.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

When did you stop asking questions out loud, and why then?
