Every trophy ends up in a box in the garage. What you became chasing it doesn’t.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Anything you win turns into an object eventually, and objects end up in boxes. What does not end up in a box is the version of you that got built along the way: the discipline, the tolerance for boredom, the way you behave when you are behind. Those travel into things that have nothing to do with the sport or the contest.
When a result you wanted does not arrive, take inventory of what did. Name three things you can do now because of the chase. That is the part nobody can put in a garage.
Who did you become while chasing something you barely display?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
