When everything arrives in thirty minutes, nothing feels special. Let a few things take their time.

REFLECTION
Waiting used to be built into everything and has now been engineered out, which quietly removed the anticipation that made things feel like events. When any song, any meal and any answer arrives in minutes, nothing gets the run-up that turns it into a memory. Speed is genuinely useful. It is simply not free.
Put a delay back into one thing on purpose. Save for it, order it by post, wait for the season it belongs to. The pause is where a surprising amount of the enjoyment was hiding.
What would feel better to you if it arrived slower?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
