Motivation is a guest who leaves early. The reason you care is the one who lives there.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Motivation shows up for the first week of anything and then has somewhere else to be. What remains is the reason underneath, which is quieter, more specific and usually attached to a person or a thing you genuinely care about. Systems that need you to feel enthusiastic fall apart in November. Systems built on a reason do not.
Write down why you started, in one sentence, and keep it where you will see it on a bad morning. Then design a routine that works while you are unenthusiastic, since that describes most days.
What made you care before motivation showed up at all?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
