Your values are whatever you keep doing when it starts costing you something.

REFLECTION
Anything you hold while it is free is a preference. It becomes a value at the point where keeping it costs you something: time, money, a friendship, looking good. That is the only real test, and it is why lists of values written on a wall mean so little.
Look back at the last month for one thing you paid for in some way and did anyway. That is on your actual list. Then find one you dropped the moment it got costly, and be honest about it without turning it into a verdict on you. Knowing the real list is how you get to choose it.
Have you kept doing something even when it cost you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
