Being known for something beats being liked for nothing.

REFLECTION
Being generally agreeable gets you a pleasant, forgettable spot in a room. Nobody dislikes you and nobody comes to you for anything, because there is nothing specific attached to your name. Being the person who does a particular thing well gives people a reason to call, even people who find you slightly annoying. Reputation needs a noun.
Pick the noun you want, not forever, just for this year: the one who fixes things, the one who can write, the one who never lets a group project die. Then do it publicly enough that three people would name it if asked. Depth is more useful than being widely inoffensive.
What would people say you are actually known for?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
