Stop replaying the conversation. You heard it fine the first time.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Replaying promises new information and never produces any. You are not analyzing, you are re-experiencing, and the tenth pass is identical to the first except that you are more tired. The pull is about control: if you can find the exact wrong word, maybe you can fix a thing that is already over. Understanding is not what the loop is for.
Give it one useful ending. Write the single line you would change and what you will do next time, then stop. If it genuinely matters and you cannot let it go, go and ask the person what they meant, which takes two minutes and usually ends it.
