The quietest seat on the bus is where you finally hear your own thoughts.

Thinking needs somewhere to happen and most of the day does not provide it. A seat where nobody can reach you, with nothing required of you for twenty minutes, is one of the few places left where your own thoughts get the floor. They were always running underneath. The noise just kept them from being audible.
Find your version of that seat and defend it: the back of the bus, the walk before anyone is up, the ten minutes after everyone has gone to bed. Keep the headphones out for some of it. Whatever surfaces there is usually the thing you actually need to deal with.
Where in your day does nobody need anything from you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
