Being brave usually looks more awkward than heroic.

CREATIVITY
Courage in real life has none of the staging. It is a wobbly voice, a sentence that comes out in the wrong order, hands doing something odd, and a sense afterwards that you handled it badly. That is what it looks like from inside, and the smoothness people imagine belongs to a version that has been edited. Awkward is not a sign you failed at being brave.
Do the thing badly this week rather than waiting to do it well. Ask, apply, say the honest sentence, with whatever voice turns up. Nobody remembers the delivery nearly as long as you do, and they remember that you said it.
When did being brave leave you feeling awkward?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
