Leaders need boundaries more than anyone, because everybody wants a piece of them.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Once you are the person others lean on, captain, oldest sibling, the one who organizes things, requests stop being occasional and start being constant. Each one is reasonable by itself. Together they eat the entire week, and the part of you that made you worth leaning on is usually the first thing to get cut.
Set the hours when you are reachable and let people learn them. Hand one thing you always do to somebody who would do it nearly as well. Being slightly less available is not letting anyone down. It is how you are still standing next month.
Since taking charge of something, who now expects unlimited access to you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
