Every choice is either a favor to future you or a bill you’re leaving them. Be loyal to that person.

Putting something off does not cancel it, it transfers it to somebody who will have less time and no warning. That somebody is you in three weeks, and the only reason it feels free is that they are not in the room to object. Treating them as an actual person changes the arithmetic on a lot of small decisions. You would not do this to a friend.

Do one small favor for them today. Pack the bag tonight, answer the message, start the assignment for twenty minutes. Then notice tomorrow what it feels like to be on the receiving end.
