You can ask for another chance. You can’t invoice someone for their trust.

Asking is allowed. You can tell someone you want another shot, and you can say what you would do differently. What you cannot do is treat their trust as a debt that comes due because enough time has passed or because the apology was worded well. It gets handed back at their speed, and rushing them is the same problem wearing a new outfit.

If you are waiting on somebody, say your piece once and then let it sit. Spend the waiting being the version of yourself they would have no reason to doubt.
