Someone giving you their Saturday is giving you something they’ll never get back. Treat it that way.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Time is the single thing nobody gets returned. When someone spends a Saturday on you, they are not doing a favor they can redo later, they are handing over a piece of a life they get exactly once. That is a bigger deal than anything they could buy you, and it slips past unnoticed because it does not look like a gift.

Be on time for the people who give you their hours, and be there once you arrive. Cancelling late is not neutral, it spends their day as well as yours. Thank them for the time itself, not just for the thing you did.
