Talent is common. Someone who does exactly what they said, when they said, is rare.

Ability is everywhere and it is cheap. Plenty of people can do the thing, and far fewer will have it done by Thursday the way they said on Monday. That gap is where most opportunities actually get handed out, because anyone organizing anything is mainly trying to reduce the number of things they have to worry about. Being predictable is not a lesser quality than being gifted.

Start saying what you will do in specific terms, then do exactly that. Promise less if you need to. One kept word outweighs an impressive thing you nearly finished.
