Be the same person in the group chat, at the dinner table and on the court. That’s what trust is built on.

Most people run slightly different versions of themselves depending on the room, and a small adjustment is normal. The problem starts when the versions would embarrass each other. If the you who jokes in the group chat would make the you at dinner wince, someone is eventually going to meet both.

Notice one place this week where you sharpen or shrink to fit in. Ask what would actually happen if you brought the same person into that room. Usually less than you fear, and you stop having to remember which version you used where.
