Being coachable isn’t about agreeing with everything. It’s about not needing to win every note.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Someone who takes coaching well still has opinions and still pushes back sometimes. What they do not do is treat every correction as a small trial they have to win. That reflex burns the time the note was supposed to save, and after a while people stop bothering to give you any. You can disagree once and still do it their way for a week to see.

Next time you get a note, try running it before you rebut it. Give it a genuine attempt, then say what you found. Coaches listen very differently to someone who has already tried the thing.
