Growing up with less teaches you to make something out of almost nothing. Rich kids pay coaches for that.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Making something out of nothing is a skill, and it only gets built where there is nothing to work with. You learn to improvise, to repair instead of replace, to see what a thing could be used for rather than what it was sold as. That ability is genuinely rare and it did not come cheaply. The circumstances were no gift, and the capability is real.

Notice where you already improvise without thinking about it. Then use it deliberately on something you care about, not only on necessities. What you learned under pressure works just as well once the pressure lifts.
