Not every critic bought a ticket to your show. You don’t have to perform for people sitting outside.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Plenty of opinions come from people with nothing invested in how things turn out for you. They have not done the work, will not carry the consequences, and are not staying for the second act. Treating that commentary the same as feedback from people who are genuinely involved gives it a weight it never earned.

Make yourself a short list of whose opinion counts here, and be honest that it is short. Three or four names is plenty. When criticism arrives, check the name against the list first. Whatever falls outside it can be heard politely and left there.
