If you want a success score that never drops, count the people who are better off because you were around.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Most measures of success move with things you do not control: the market, the season, someone else’s decision. A count of people you actually helped only goes up, because nothing later can undo the help. It is also the one number that stays meaningful when the others collapse.

Try keeping that tally privately, adding a name only when you can say what changed for them. It will be shorter than you expect, which is the useful part. Let the shortness push you toward one specific person this month rather than toward guilt.
