Growing up somewhere shapes the odds, and odds are not the same as limits. The danger is when a statistic gets absorbed as a personal fact and starts doing your deciding for you before anyone else gets the chance. Plenty of the constraint is real, and some of it is only assumed.

Separate the barriers that are actually in front of you from the ones you have been carrying on their behalf. Test one of the assumed ones this month by applying, asking, or showing up anyway. Let the world do the rejecting rather than doing it for them.
