Frightening and dangerous are not the same thing, and the feeling in your chest cannot tell them apart. A risk that has been checked, rehearsed and backed by someone competent is frightening and sound. Recklessness is what happens when the fear is absent because nobody looked.

Before your next leap, ask what the homework would be and whether it has been done. Check what happens in the worst case and whether you could absorb it. Then let the nerves be nerves rather than evidence.
