A closed door can still contain love on both sides.

Ending contact with someone does not require you to stop caring about them, and the assumption that it does makes necessary decisions harder than they need to be. You can wish someone genuinely well, hope things improve for them, and still know that being in contact is not good for you. Love and access are separate. The door being closed says nothing about what is on either side of it.
If you are carrying guilt about a distance you needed, let the affection and the decision exist together. You do not have to resolve them into a single feeling. Both can be true for as long as they need to be.
Whom do you still love from a distance you chose?
