Wear the band shirt. Talk about the show. Liking things out loud is how you find your people.

Visible enthusiasm works as a signal to people you have not met yet. Nobody can find you through a preference you keep private, and most friendships that last started with someone noticing a shared, slightly specific interest. Broadcasting what you like is less about self expression than about being findable.

Put one clear marker of what you care about where people can see it, then let it do its work. Say the name of the thing in conversation rather than hedging. Some people will not care, and the ones who light up are the ones you were looking for.
