Depth of interest is rarer than taste and considerably more interesting to be around. The posture of caring about nothing is easy to maintain and produces nothing, while genuine absorption in a subject is what eventually turns into skill, into work, and into the people you meet through it.

Talk about the thing you know too much about, in detail, to somebody this week. Do not apologize for the level of detail. Boredom from one listener is a fine price for finding the person who asks a follow up question.
