If school sanded the creativity off you, it’s still under there. Scratch the surface and find it.

Years of being graded teaches a specific caution: check the requirements, avoid the wrong answer, spend nothing on what is not being marked. That caution is a real skill, and it is also a layer over something older that never actually went anywhere. What got trained out was the habit, not the capacity.

Try something with no possible grade attached. Make one thing this week that nobody will evaluate, and stay with the discomfort of not knowing whether it is right.
