Every workaround you ever invented to solve an annoying problem was a creative act. Give yourself credit.

Creativity gets filed under art, so the ordinary inventions of a normal week never count toward it. The propped door, the improvised fix, the odd system you built to keep track of something: each one is the same process of seeing a gap and making something that was not there. You have been doing it all along under a different name.

Write down three of your own from the past month. Seeing them listed tends to change what you think you are capable of making on purpose.
