Postponement works right up until it does not. Small maintenance feels optional because skipping it has no visible cost today, and each skip teaches you the cost is zero. It is not zero. It is deferred, and it lands all at once at a moment you did not pick. The same holds for most things you keep pushing forward.

Make a short list of what you have been deferring, starting with the one you already know the name of. Do the smallest item today, while it is still a choice rather than an emergency.
