Say “I’m just not a morning person” enough times and you’ll start planning your whole life around it.

Descriptions of yourself become instructions if you repeat them often enough. What starts as an observation about a few bad mornings hardens into a fixed trait, and then you begin arranging things around it, which produces more evidence for the trait. The loop is quiet and it closes without anyone deciding anything.
Notice the sentences you say about yourself that begin with a permanent claim. Try the smaller version instead, that this week has been rough or that you have not tried in a while. Leave room for the description to change.
Which label about yourself do you repeat until it sticks?
