Temptation sells the highlight and hides the invoice.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Every bad offer leads with its best minute. The pitch is real and the pleasure is real, and the cost simply does not appear in the advertisement. It arrives afterwards, itemised, often for somebody else as well. You are not being irrational for wanting it, only being shown an incomplete price.
Before the next thing that pulls at you, spend one minute on the part nobody is showing. Ask what tomorrow morning looks like, and who else is in the picture. That one minute usually does more than trying to argue yourself out of wanting it.
What did something cost you long after it felt worth it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
