Give the final spoonful of dessert your full focus. Same goes for the last evening of July.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Endings concentrate things. The final bite and the final evening of a season are not better than what came before them, but they are the last instance, and that changes how much attention they can hold. Most of the time you spend the end of something already thinking about what comes next, which means the last one passes exactly like all the others.
When you notice you are near the end of something small, stop and give it the full minute. The last of the meal, the last day of a trip, the last shift somewhere. Nothing is required except that you be there for it.
Which ending did you rush past without marking it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
