Autopilot turns a whole month into one long gray Tuesday. Do one thing differently and you’ll actually remember the week.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Repetition compresses memory. Days that are identical get stored as one day, which is why a month of routine can vanish almost entirely while a week with something unusual in it stays detailed for years. You did live those days. There was simply nothing distinct enough for your memory to hold on to.
Break the pattern once a week, cheaply. A different route, a meal somewhere new, a person you have not seen, any small thing that could not be confused with the day before. The point is not excitement, it is giving the week something to be remembered by.
What could you do differently tomorrow to remember this week?
