Tell the people close to you what you’re working on. Change is easier when friends stop offering the old habit.

LEADERSHIP
Habits are held in place by the people around you as much as by your own intentions. If nobody knows you are trying to change something, they keep offering the old version out of ordinary kindness, and you spend your energy declining instead of changing. Saying it out loud turns them from obstacles into help, without anyone having to do anything difficult.
Tell two or three people this week, plainly and without making an announcement of it. Say what you are doing and what would help. Most people are glad to be told, and being known about is a surprisingly strong support.
Who should know about the change you are attempting?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
