You can’t learn a language without mispronouncing things in front of people. Same goes for learning a new life.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nobody acquires a new language quietly and correctly in private. You get it by saying it wrong in front of people who can hear you, repeatedly, and the mistakes are not a detour around the learning but the mechanism of it. The same applies to any life you have not lived before.

Accept a fixed amount of public clumsiness this week rather than trying to get it right first. Be the one who asks the obvious question or uses the wrong word. Fluency has no route that avoids that stage.
