That is easy to miss, because it feels like responsiveness rather than control, and the numbers hand you constant instruction. Positions held for attention move whenever the attention moves. It makes you readable to an audience and unreliable to yourself.

Write down two things you believe that would not go over well where you post. Keep them true regardless of the reaction. If a view of yours changes, be able to name what changed it besides the count.
