Fixing what is loose is cheaper than replacing what eventually falls.

A loose fitting is a five-minute job. The same fitting after it has failed takes out whatever it was holding, and often several things nearby. The difference in cost is enormous and the difference in effort at the point of decision is almost nothing, which is why the choice is so often made badly.
Walk around your life and look for what is loose but still holding. Tighten one thing. It is the cheapest work available and it is nearly always overdue.
