Help someone and tell nobody. See how it feels to be the only witness.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Most good deeds carry a small expectation of being seen, and the seeing quietly becomes part of the payment. Removing it changes the shape of the act, because what is left has to be motivated by the thing itself. At first it feels oddly quiet, almost as though nothing happened, and then it settles into something steadier than praise.
Do one useful thing this week that nobody will ever attribute to you. Resist mentioning it in passing, which is where it usually leaks out. Notice what remains once the audience has been subtracted.
Could you help someone this week and mention it nowhere?
