Find someone five years ahead of you and ask questions. Then find someone five years behind you and answer theirs.

Someone slightly ahead of you remembers the specifics of where you are standing, which makes their answers far more usable than advice from the top of the field. Someone slightly behind gives you a reason to turn what you have learned into sentences, and that is when you discover what you actually know. Both directions cost very little, and most people only ever look upwards.
Send one message this week asking a specific question of someone a few years further along. Make it small enough to answer in a paragraph. Then answer the next question that reaches you from behind, at the same length and with the same care.
Which question would you ask someone further along than you?
